The Tastings on Hastings is a celebration of the people, produce and natural beauty of the Greater Port Macquarie region and surrounds. It focuses on the farmers, wine makers, brewers, chefs, restaurants and cafes that combine to offer a unique Agritourism experience to travellers on the Mid North Coast of NSW.

The Main Event, a major food and wine festival held in the centre of this thriving town overlooking the Hastings River featuring more than 80 exhibitors, live entertainment, cooking demonstrations by leading local and international chefs.

Notes:

The Town Green is Port Macquarie's premier area of open space, being situated on the Hastings River at the northern end of Horton Street in the CBD. The reserve commands panoramic views of the Hastings River providing a spectacular venue for civic functions, community and cultural events, as well as open public space for recreational use.

  • Lady Nelson Wharf - named after the ship 'The Lady Nelson' in which Surveyor-General, John Oxley sailed in to the area to explore and take soundings in 1819. 
  • War Memorial
  • Birpai Healing Garden, created to celebrate reconciliation and women's spirituality
  • Life-size bronze sculpture of Australia's first Prime Minister and member for the Hastings-Macleay in 1898-1899, Sir Edmund Barton. The sculpture was commissioned by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council to celebrate the Centenary of Federation
