2012 Garage Sale Trail

Do you love a bargain? Maybe you have a garage full of stuff you never use. Saturday 5 May will be your chance to join Aussies all over the country for the 2012 Garage Sale Trail.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is on board for this award winning people powered initiative that links sustainability, community and creativity. Council will be using local media, facebook and community networks to promote the opportunity to buyers, sellers and neighbours to get involved.

In 2011 there were over 1,600 garage sales registered in the event around Australia including schools and community groups running monster sales to fundraise for their respective causes; households using it as a way to de-clutter and make a little pocket money and a whole range of artists and creators using the Garage Sale Trail as a marketplace to sell their wares.

If last year's event is anything to go by, there will be pop-up record stores, art shows, bike sales, backyard bands, as well as the classic clothes and vintage gold. All of this while creating a great chance to meet the neighbours and celebrate the local community.
