Greater Port Macquarie - What's On
Slice Of Haven - Food and Wine Festival
If feasting on freshly shucked oysters and chilled wine is your idea of heaven, head to Laurieton's 'Slice of Haven' food and wine festival on Sunday 23 May 2010.
Set on the banks of the Camden Haven's pristine waterways, where millions of oysters are farmed every year, this tasty day will serve up over 60 stallholders hailing from the hinterland to the coast.
Showcasing the best local produce and culinary creations, buy local trademarks such as Armstrong Oysters, Ricardoes Tomatoes, Cassegrain Wines, Wilmaria Olives, Longpoint Vineyard Wines, Comboyne Cheeses and The Little Brewing Company beer.
This free event from 10am to 3pm is a great day out for families and day-trippers. Pack a picnic blanket and watch chefs at work, street theatre, entertaining clowns, local musicians, the Hastings Valley Fine Arts Society and kids enjoying carnival rides.
The Camden Haven is 30 minutes south of Port Macquarie, which has a long history of producing exceptional food and wine.
The festival is held on the foreshore of the Camden Haven River, Seymour Street, near the Laurieton United Services Club. Slice of Haven is brought to you by the Camden Haven Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Tourism and sponsored by Holiday Coast Credit Union, Southern Cross Media, Country Energy, Focus Magazine and the Camden Haven Courier.
