Weeds can inhabit all environments from pasture lands to coastal strips, roadsides, waterways and bushland.

They are invasive and resilient and can seriously impact on social, economic and environmental sustainability.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is a Local Control Authority for the Mid North Coast Weeds Advisory Committee (MNCWAC), contributing to the development of the Regional Weeds Strategy 2008-2012 which aims to provide landholders and land managers with a set of standards and guidelines for implementing effective and co-ordinated weed control programs.
