Aboriginal Reconciliation and Commitment Action Plan 2008-2012 Community Forums

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council invites members of the community to attend an interactive Forum to provide feedback on the Aboriginal Reconciliation and Commitment Action Plan

Council's Manager of Community and Cultural Development, Gabriella Carroll said, "The aim of the forums is to give the community an opportunity to find out more about the Aboriginal Reconciliation and Commitment Action Plan 2008-2012 and provide feedback about the strategies.

"The draft Aboriginal Reconciliation and Commitment Action Plan 2008-2012 outlines initiatives aimed at ensuring equitable access and outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander citizens of the Hastings area", Mrs Carroll said.

The draft Action Plan provides three key strategies and numerous actions for implementation, in a whole of Council approach aimed at inclusion and social justice. 

"I'd like to see as many people as possible attend the forums and have input to shape the direction of the four year Plan", Mrs Carroll concluded.

The Reconciliation Information Forums will be held in 3 locations within the Port Macquarie-Hastings area.
