Port Macquarie Airport is owned, operated, managed and developed by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council.

The Airport currently receives daily flights from Sydney on QantasLink's DASH 8 aircraft (up to 72 seats) and Virgin Blue's Embraer E-170 jets (78 seats). Brindabella Airlines also operates daily services to Coffs Harbour and Brisbane on its J41 and Metro III aircraft (up to 30 seats). QantasLink Q400 services (72 seats) commenced on 25 August 2008.
Port Macquarie Airport also supports a general aviation sector including charter, training and maintenance facilities.
In the 2008, 168,000 passengers used Port Macquarie Airport (an increase of 35% over the previous year). Passenger numbers in 2008-09 are forecast to reach approximately 180,000.
The airport is operational 24 hours a day and handles approximately 30,000 aircraft movements each year.
