Water Operation Attendant

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council is seeking to appoint a Water Operation Attendant to join the Water Supply team in Port Macquarie, servicing the water services and reticulation system throughout the area.

Prospective candidates will ideally have Certificate III level qualifications in Water Industry Operations and have demonstrated experience in the installation & maintenance of water services, water meters and water mains. Trade qualification or experience in plumbing (or other relevant trade) will be highly regarded.

Council is willing to consider applications from those who have experience in the water industry, but do not possess the relevant qualifications. A lower rate of pay will initially be offered to reflect the lower level of job readiness, reviewable periodically in line with increased knowledge, skills and progress towards obtaining the minimum qualifications required of the position.

Remuneration for a fully suitable applicant will be competency based within the range $40,000 to $45,000 per annum, plus super. Remuneration for a partially suitable appointee will be upwards of $35,000 per annum plus super, dependant upon skills and experience.
