COMMUNITY ADVISORY PANEL

Council has established a Community Advisory Panel (CAP) which provides a reference point for decision making. CAP members act as a grassroots thinktank to help Council really understand community sentiment when making planning decisions.

Three months after launching the CAP in December 2009 more than 250 members of the Hastings community have joined the Panel. While the Panel isn't a descision making body of Council, it is important that it represents the area's demographics and interest groups as closely as possible. Membership of the Panel has not closed and people interested in joining can complete the form below.

Consultation with the CAP is conducted in accordance with Council's approved Community Participation Policy. The Policy and the Terms of Reference for the CAP can be downloaded below.

Current CAP Consultation

One of the first consultation activities that the CAP will be involved in is the development of a Roadmap for the Future. This document, due for completion by June 2010, is part of the Towards 2030 Community Strategic Vision. Council will use this document to determine the finances, workforce requirements and the works program needed to meet the community's priorities for a Four Year Delivery Program.
