Local Business To Be Showcased At Customer Care Service Excellence Awards
Monday, 31 May 2010
Local businesses endorsed by Port Macquarie-Hastings Council's nationally recognised Customer Care program will be recognised for their commitment to the values of good service at the 2010 Customer Care Service Excellence Awards this Friday night.
In its fourth year, the Awards showcase the best of the best in local business and reward exceptional customer service.
Awards will be presented in 10 categories this year - General Retail, Food and Beverage Retailing, Food and Beverage (Non Store) Retailing/Wholesaling, Health and Personal Services, Professional Services - Financial, Professional Service - Training and Development and Professional Services - Business and Community; Trade Services and Suppliers, Tourism (Accommodation) and Tourism (Attraction/Entertainment).
The 2010 Customer Care Service Excellence Awards will be held on June 4 at Port Macquarie Panthers.
Council's Economic Development Manager Trevor Sargeant said the annual awards are a way of recognising great business practice, and are also a showcase to residents and visitors alike that Port Macquarie-Hastings has embraced the values of good service.
"We encourage local businesses to learn what others are doing by becoming part of the Customer Care program and participating in everything the program has to offer. It's fun, enjoyable and a great opportunity to take away some excellent ideas from business peers and create networks that more broadly strengthen the local business sector," Mr Sargeant said.
"We have many businesses that have been recognised through the Customer Care Service Excellence Awards and received a great deal of benefit from the exposure that this has created.
"It is extremely encouraging that entries for this year's awards have increased by an outstanding 50 percent, indicating that we have many more Hastings businesses that are proud of what they are achieving."
The Customer Care Program was established in 2006 by Council and the Customer Care Taskforce, with the aim of helping local business and industry achieve 'best practice' methods for customer service.
It is now managed by Council's Customer Care Co-ordinator Rachel Ross and driven by industry through the Chambers of Commerce, the Greater Port Macquarie Tourism Association, Hastings Business Women's Network, HBEC and the NSW Business Chamber.
