Hastings H2O Bottle Bubblers
The Hastings H2O Bottle Bubbler is designed as a refill station for water bottles.
There will be 11 bottle bubblers installed across the Hastings with the aim to encourage people to drink town water and use reusable drinking bottles rather than bottled water and reduce plastic bottle waste to landfill along with minimising the cost to Council in plastic bottle collection, recycling and removal from Storm water traps.
The bubblers will also minimise dependance on buying bottled water, which has significant environmental impacts resulting from groundwater extractions, bottling and transport.
The proposed locations of the H2O Bottle Bubblers are:
- Town Green, near Lady Nelson Wharf
- Bain Park, Wauchope
- Laurieton, near the Sporting fields and markets site
- Wayne Richards Park
- Cowarra Dam
- Westport Park
- Stuarts Park
- Along the Coastal Walk, at Oxley Beach
- Rocky Beach Lookout
- Town Beach
- Flynns Beach
The Bottle Bubbler prototype was designed by Council's Water Supply attendant Ken Barker and fabricated by Rodney Jones at local company HERC Equipment, Wauchope.
Anyone wishing to provide input on the location of the bottle bubblers can contact Council on 6581 8111.
