Parking Strategy Information Session
A community information session next Thursday will give residents an opportunity to seek further explanation of the actions proposed in the draft Parking Strategy and Policy, that Port Macquarie-Hastings Council currently has on public exhibition.
The Strategy combines feedback from the community with technical analysis and financial forecasting to outline proposed actions for the next 20 years divided as short, medium or long term priorities. It also contains four potential funding scenarios that will support the implementation of the actions in the town centres of Port Macquarie, Wauchope and Laurieton.
Council's Manager Technical Services Cliff Toms says that anyone interested in parking within our town centres is encouraged to attend the information session.
"The session will involve an explanation of the draft Strategy and Policy and details on the 10 months of research and community engagement that have gone into its development.
"An opportunity will also be provided for attendees to ask related questions in order to assist them to make a written submission on the Strategy," said Mr Toms.
The parking Strategy information session will be held on Thursday 16 June starting at 7:00pm in Council's Function room at the Burrawan St offices, Port Macquarie. To RSVP for the session or download a copy of the draft Parking Strategy and Policy see Council's website www.pmhc.nsw.gov.au/parkingstrategy or contact Council on 65818111.
Submissions on the draft Parking Strategy and Policy will be received till 30 June 2011.
