Bonny Hills Reserves Master-Plans

Coastal walkways, shared pedestrian and cycling facilities as well as recreation spaces and regenerated bushland are all features included in the draft Master-plans of the Bonny Hills Reserves.

Council resolved at the meeting tonight to put the master-plans on public exhibition from the end of this month for 28 days in order to gauge the community's response to the proposed plans.

According to Council's Manager of Recreation and Buildings Liam Bulley, the plans are the result of significant engagement with the community.

"Council resolved in May this year to appoint an appropriately qualified person to review all the feedback received from the community forum and develop the draft Master-plans.

"It's great to now be at a point where we can take those plans back to the community and get their feedback at a really tangible level. They can see things like plantings, pathways and public toilet facilities and offer feedback on how they would be used," said Mr Bulley.

The draft Bonny Hills Reserves master-plans are on public exhibition from this Friday 30 September until 28 October and available from Council's website or from the offices and libraries in Port Macquarie, Laurieton and Wauchope. Council will also host an information session in Bonny Hills in coming weeks.

To date the cost of implementing the master-plans has not been finalised. A further report will come back to Council after the public exhibition period has closed with the potential to then develop detailed designs and associated costings for the specific components of the plans.

"Implementing these master-plans is a long term vision that will involve a combination of capital works funding, grant funding and potentially community support," said Mr Bulley.
