Town Centre Master Plan Project Manager Sought

A project manager will be appointed to help move the Town Centre Master Plan project forward and liaise with CBD business owners on the progress of planned works.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has supported the position in principle and has charged the Town Centre Master Plan Committee with the task of defining the roles and responsibilities of the project manager. The position will be financed from the income raised for the Master Plan works and associated activities which is primarily sourced from the special rate levied on CBD properties.

The proposal to employ a project manager was raised at a forum with committee members earlier this month. The committee also expressed interest in supporting town centre activities that have a positive flow on to the business community such as Christmas celebrations and the Christmas tree lighting on Town Green.

The committee agreed to contribute $10,000 toward Christmas activities in the Port Macquarie CBD.
