Free downloadable music from your local library
Port Macquarie-Hastings Library Service has announced that it will begin using the Freegal Music Service, the very popular international service that offers library customers access to songs from Sony Music's extensive catalogue.
The service will allow the Port Macquarie-Hastings Library to increase the size and diversity of its collection by offering access to hundreds of thousands of songs.
Library Manager Jim Maguire said under the terms of the agreement, registered members of the Port Macquarie-Hastings Library can download a up to three Sony Music tracks in MP3 format each week, at no direct cost, via the library website http://mnclibrary.org.au , with the library underwriting the subscription to this new service.
"We have been waiting a long time for a service like this that delivers great music, compatibility with lots of devices and simplicity of use," Mr Maguire said.
"We think this will be incredibly popular with our patrons and will help the library in marketing all its services to the community."
