Statement: Fluoridation delayed

Fluoridation of the Hastings water supply has not commenced today 21 February 2012.

Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Administrator Neil Porter has advised that an addition to the facility's Standard Operating Procedure was requested in the recent approval to fluoridate the supply. Council provided this information a fortnight ago.

Formal approval of this addition has not been received from the NSW Office of Water. As such, the Administrator has advised that he is not prepared to commence dosing fluoridation without that approval.
