Wauchope Indoor Sports Stadium open
The doors have re-opened at the Wauchope Indoor Sports Stadium after works to remove asbestos materials were completed.
Last year, Council's asbestos audit identified the Wauchope Stadium as a high priority to have this asbestos removed.
A new roof and skylights have been installed at the community centre, following the asbestos removal, with the building now certified as asbestos free.
Further upgrade works to the Stadium are continuing which will include an access entry ramp and an accessible toilet.
An allocation of $35,000 was prioritised for the project, designed to improve disability access to the indoor stadium. Construction is expected to be completed by 30 June, 2012.
This building is now a smoke and alcohol free zone and patrons should adhere to these conditions at this community facility.
Booking enquiries can be made through the Wauchope Indoor Sports Stadium office by phone 6589 6500 or via front reception.
