Roadside vegetation works along Pacific Drive
Council staff will conduct vegetation management works along Pacific Drive over the next two weeks.
Port Macquarie-Hastings Council Manager Recreation and Buildings, Liam Bulley said these vital works form part of several projects identified within the Council's Parks Winter Works Program.
"Roadside vegetation management works will begin next Wednesday, 27 June from 9am-3pm between Ocean Drive and Timber Ridge on Pacific Drive and is expected to be completed by Friday, 29 June," Mr Bulley said.
The works will include weed control, roadside mowing, tree maintenance and weed control and aligns with Council's Road Maintenance Program.
"These are necessary works which will improve visibility, safety, and aesthetics along some of our busiest roads," Mr Bulley said.
This is the first of several high priority roadside vegetation management works. Other areas to be targeted include:
Lake Road, between Fernhill Road and Oxley Highway
Oxley Highway, between Wrights Road and Fernhill Road
Selected areas within the Camden Haven and Wauchope will also be attended to. These works are expected to be completed within the next 4-6 weeks.
"Traffic management including reduced speed limits, may cause possible short delays. Council requests the community's assistance in minimising vehicular movements through the work site during this period," Mr Bulley said.
Council staff thank the public for their patience and compliance to the changed speed limits and driving conditions while these important works are completed.
