Glasshouse Community Support Program

The first round of recipients for Glasshouse Community Support Program were announced at tonight's Council meeting, receiving more than $13,000 in grant assistance.

The program supports Not For Profit Organisations who are based in the Port Macquarie-Hastings Local Government Area, or those who are delivering events directly benefiting the region.  Six community groups were successful in their application and will now receive up to 40% off the Glasshouse venue costs.

The Hastings Choristers, NSW Police, Hastings Youth Theatre, Big Band Blast, Rotary Sunrise and TAFE Creative Industries were all successful in receiving grant assistance for venue hire charges for their events this year.

Director Community and Cultural Development Lesley Atkinson said the grant funding will assist a diverse range of local community groups hiring the Glasshouse to stage their events and activities. 

"While it is important to have commercial groups hire the venue and generate income we also want to ensure than our local community groups can access and utilise this wonderful space as well," Ms Atkinson said.  

The Glasshouse Community Support Program will begin accepting applications for the next round in July.
