Herons Creek Sewerage Scheme
A long standing issue of Port Macquarie-Hastings Council has been resolved with the acceptance of a tender for construction of the Herons Creek Sewage Scheme.
Herons Creek will be the first of six villages to receive a new sewer reticulation system and pumping station.
Director, Infrastructure Services, Jeffery Sharp said Council has reviewed existing sewage management practices in a number of village areas and determined that connecting them to the sewer network would minimise adverse environmental and public health impacts.
The scheme at Herons Creek will potentially be commissioned by the end of 2012, with other villages identified for the small villages sewage scheme including Beechwood, North Shore, Comboyne and Telegraph Point.
