Council Sub-committees

Council forms sub-committees to deal with specific issues in the community.  For instance, one sub-committee may deal with development applications and other sub-committees with coastal management, heritage or traffic issues.

Sub-committees are an excellent way to increase community participation, as sub-committees are frequently made-up of Councillors, government departments, members of the business community and the general public. Committees generally make recommendations to a full Council meeting where a final decision on the issues will be made.

When sub-committees meet, they generally determine the next meeting date and time, however this may not be the case for all sub-committees.  The minutes generally will record the next meeting date and time if a decision is made.

Listed below are the current sub-committees of Council which are open to the public and where agendas and minutes are available to view on-line.  This list also includes meeting frequency, where determined.

Please contact the relevant officer listed below for sub-committee enquiries, including future meeting dates, or call 6581 8111.
